Requirements

  • Previous experience as a baker, especially in offshore or maritime environments, is often preferred.

  • Ability to work well within a team, as the baker collaborates closely with other crew members in the galley.
  • Effective communication is crucial for understanding and fulfilling the dietary needs and preferences of the crew.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a variety of bread, pastries, and desserts for the crew, considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Collaborate with the galley team to plan a diverse and appealing menu that includes baked goods.
  • Monitor and manage baking supplies, ensuring an adequate stock of flour, yeast, and other necessary items.
  • Ensure that baked goods meet quality standards and adhere to hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Keep the bakery area clean and well-maintained, following strict sanitation practices to prevent contamination.
  • Work closely with other galley staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure a smooth flow of operations.
