Requirements

• Valid STCW documents
• National Seamans book
• Medical Fitness Certificate
• Previous experience as Chief Officer onboard oil tankers.
• Exceptional navigation and watchkeeping skills, including the use of navigational equipment.
• In-depth knowledge of international and local maritime regulations.
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in English is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• In charge of the vessel's safe passage, overseeing all navigation-related activities, course plotting, watchkeeping, and maintaining navigational equipment.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and navigation procedures to prevent accidents and environmental incidents.
• Supervise and train junior deck officers and crew members, emphasizing safe navigational practices and emergency response procedures.
• Maintain comprehensive records of navigational activities, including voyage plans, logbooks, and incident reports.

Working Conditions

• This position is based onboard a Malta-flagged Oil Tanker engaged in cabotage operations in Italian waters.
• The work schedule follows a rotating watch system and involves extended periods at sea.
